Time Lord Victorious: DALEKS! 04: The Deadly Ally Review

Apparently being possessed by “The Entity” makes blue lasers turn green...

I’m honestly a little confused now. The shots are competent once again and even an improvement on the previous episode, if a little repetitive.

The moving parts and overall conflict make this the best episode by far as I can actually tell and get somewhat invested in what’s happening. That is if I cared if the Daleks or Mechanoids live or die.

The way the narrative actually builds up to natural conclusion had me slightly amazed I was intrigued for next week’s episode!

The way the characters move feels more like I’m actually watching living things rather than static or slowly moving models.

The camera even feels dynamic here with pans and transitions actually coming off as more than just amateur, even if it’s not of a professional level.

I can’t believe I’m actually about to say this but: that was a good episode.

I won’t lie though as I believe it was the best by far because it could pull of a basic plot, and whilst I certainly didn’t care for the characters I was still entertained by the series of events that unfolded.

It reached the bare bones of what it takes to be a good episode and right now I’ll take that, even if I wasn’t impressed by what came before.

6/10
