The Eighth Doctor Adventures: Ravenous 3 Review
This is by far the middle ground out of the lot. On the one hand the Eleven is on board Team Tardis which is a thrill and he acts as a constant reminder of the larger plot going on however on the other hand the Doctor seems to be the only one who actually listens to this leading to each episode consisting of pit stops leading to them inevitably moving on to yet another location just for the Eleven to get slightly more annoyed.
The thing is I agree with him. The four part box sets lead to individual episodes being great by themselves however in the overall story it starts to drag when you realise the vital components to each episode occurs with 10 minutes of the overall standalone story.
To reiterate this are still great episodes.
The second episode in particular gave me a preview of companions and tales to come in future binges, a nice accidental timey wimey effect.
Liv and Helen are great, even if I disapprove of snarky Liv, and the Eleven makes for an amazing side kick to the Doctor.
In short, whilst the penultimate set in this exciting adventure leaves me somewhat impatient the quality of these episodes cannot be denied.
